MAE S.p.A., a global leader in the production of plants for the manufacturing of specialty chemical fibres, has opened Italy’s first demonstration plant for the production of carbon fibre as part of the “L.A.M.P.O.” research and development project (Leonardo Automated Manufacturing Process for Composites). The plant is located in the “GALILEO” design and testing centre developed by MAE in Fiorenzuola d’Arda, in the province of Piacenza.
The “L.A.M.P.O.” project was made possible thanks to the strategic collaboration with Leonardo S.p.A., the contribution of Aviorec S.r.l., CNR – The National Research Council – and the financial support of Invitalia, with which the company was able to set up the first experimental carbon fibre production line in Italy.
